Renee DeCurtis, Sail Training Manager
My days on the water started at a very young age following my parents around to their Hobie 16 regattas. When my parents registered me for my own sailing classes at the age of 10 I was instantly hooked on the sport. Throughout my junior sailing career I raced all over the united states competing in sabots, lasers, CFJs and 420s. When it came time for college I knew I wanted to be a part of a collegiate sailing team so when I found out that the University of Hawaii had a team I couldn’t get on a plane fast enough. College sailing was an amazing opportunity that included a College National Championship win in Boston my freshman year. Since then most of my life has been spent passing my love of sailing and coaching onto others. There is something to be said for an office that consists of a motor boat and the ocean. My first head coaching/program director opportunity was down south at Balboa Yacht club. Since then I’ve coached at many different clubs and worked with all levels of sailors and high school teams.
