Who do I contact with questions about joining the Sausalito Yacht Club?

How do I apply for membership in the Sausalito Yacht Club?

Membership in the Sausalito Yacht Club must be sponsored by a currently active member. Once an application has been completed and accepted, an interview will be scheduled. The final step is for the membership chair to submit the application to the Flag Officers and Chairs, who will vote on its acceptance.

Do I have to own a boat to join?

No, you do not have to own a boat to become a member.  However, club bylaws stipulate that a certain percentage of members own boats. SYC is a yacht club, focused on activities that involve boating, sail training and the Bay in general.

What type of memberships are available?

Regular membership 

Corinthian Crew – Limited to sailing crew members who regularly crew on a yacht owned or chartered by the sponsoring member.

Special Racing – Limited to individuals under the age of thirty-five, who regularly race sailing vessels on behalf of the Club.

Junior adult - Age 18 to 23

Junior - Any young person up to 18 years of age who has successfully completed the SYC sailing instruction program.

What are the initiation fees and dues?

Initiation and dues vary depending on the type of membership being applied for. You can discuss this during and initial interview with a membership committee member.
