The Ship's Store bustles every Friday night. "Do you have this in a large? "What color do you think looks best on me?" In between customers, You can talk to Elaine about the store's new strategy. It's called "Back to Basics." The store will carry a full line of boating clothes and nautical attire in basic colors. The splashy stuff will come and go seasonally.
In case you haven't met Elaine, she is the perfect person for the job. She's worked in the store for over ten years and took over buying responsibility this past January. She's been long-time member of the SYC with her husband Carl. Elaine was president of the Auxiliary from 1990-1994. Her water mode of transportation is a 39'C&C aptly named Quick Silver. Elaine has sailed on the bay for 25 years. She just started racing: non-spinnaker last year.
