Congratulations for finding the SYC Cruise Program page and Welcome. This page is where you can get yourself involved with one of the most exciting and fun aspects of belonging to an active yacht club such as ours
.cruising. For some reason however, a lot of people have found using this portion of our website confusing, troublesome, and at times downright daunting.
While the following is really directed to the newer members of the club, hopefully everyone will get something useful from this message.
With that said, lets do a little navigating on the site.
Next to the picture of your Cruise Director you will see a hyperlink that says E-mail . If you want to communicate via email directly with the Cruise Director, just click the link, an email page will open and away you go. Say whatever you wish and hit the send button. Use this anytime you have questions, suggestions related to the Cruise Program or are having problems with other areas of the page. Emails are read and responded to on a very frequent basis
honest.
The next link, Nautical Charts takes you to our collection of annotated charts. They are very helpful but PLEASE dont depend on them for navigation.
The Comments link is an alternative to the email hyperlink discussed above. Its your choice which one to use but similar to the email link, the comments are taken seriously (if meant that way) and will be responded to quickly.
The Photo Link is self explanatory. Have fun checking out some of our past cruises and if you have pictures of your own that you would like to post, the instructions are found there as well.
The best for last
the Calendar link. This is literally the heart of the Cruise Program in terms of communicating and keeping things organized. By clicking on this link you will see every event that is planned for a number of months into the future. You can click on the event itself and get a pretty good idea of what the cruise is all about including activities, costs, and even who has signed up to date. If you wish to participate yourself this is where you do it. Heres how:
1. First click on an event that includes the words click here to REGISTER. Its usually on the first day of the event.
2. The event will open and somewhere on the page you will find a link that looks something like this: http://www.syconline.org/Cruise/Location/anywhereYC/mainpage.htm
3. Click on the link and it will open a registration form. Complete the form with as much information as you can possibly provide and at the bottom of the form hit the send button. You will then see an acknowledgement page and thats it! |
